New beginnings
Words of wisdom say that every year is a new beginning - you get 365 brand new chances. Time to start new year resolutions and I am no exception to this.
The year of 2022 was a wild one for me: I reconnected with the love of my life and got married. Moved back to Sao Paulo, my home town, after 5 years abroad. Said goodbye to my business and to beloved ones in the UK. Started a new job. So much has changed, but not my desire to write and to stay connected to the tech and entrepreneurship world. So, 2023, here we come.
Why Milkshade, and why now
Another inspirational quote (since we are in January, and everything & everyone is hopeful): “If you want to go fast, go alone; If you want to go far, go together”. Cliche? Yes. True? Also, and very much.
That is why I created Milkshade, a space to share tech and business stories for those who are early adopters, tech savvy and hungry for knowledge. Plus, its a product of my desire to connect with a community of like-minded people.
What kind of community I am looking to build
Back in 2019-2020, I shared literally EVERY book that I’ve read (might have amounted to 50-60 books in those two years - the pandemic afforded me some free time in its early days). After the few initial posts, I remember getting messages from friends such as “taking notes of it NOW” or “What else do you recommend?”. More traction than beach photos, who knew?
What I take from this - sharing has great power. And that is why I wanted to get back to it, but through a newsletter channel this time - I believe that people who listen to podcasts and subscribe to newsletters are more inclined to search for knowledge versus those who are just scrolling on Instagram.
What I will share with you
Milkshade is where I will share my take on business, tech, marketing and everything business-related on a weekly basis, through a mix of:
tech & entrepreneurship stories
interviews
book reviews
